"Potential is Huge" for You and for Me

I remember clearly the great anticipation that wrapped around the room when Mr. Long explained about the plan for this new partnership to the parents and students in Seven Springs, Yeoksam-dong late March or early April -- Especially vivid because I was standing there interpreting.
Earning the U.K. MA degree while working and living on the foothills of Himilayas once again... an attractive option -- that may connect the dots, give life to the Big Vision.

Dr Long signs the agreement with IOE representativesHistory was made at Woodstock School on Wednesday (May 8) when a new partnership was set up with the University of London’s Institute of Education (IOE), a world leader in educational research.
The partnership will see the IOE run a professional development programme for Woodstock staff over the next two years, enabling them to gain credits towards international teaching credentials and Master’s degrees.
On Wednesday staff from the Doon School in Dehradun, who are also establishing a similar partnership with the IOE, visited Woodstock to discuss teaching methodologies and share good practice.
Woodstock Principal Dr Jonathan Long said the main beneficiaries of this new partnership would be the Woodstock's students.
He said: “This is an historic day for Woodstock. When two of Asia’s leading schools form a partnership with one of the leading educational institutes in the world, the potential is huge, not only for our students and staff, but for education in India.
“What could develop is a model for doing education which emerges in an Indian context but takes account of global perspectives. The bottom line is that our young people will benefit tremendously from this.”
The initiative sees Woodstock returning to its early roots, when the school also incorporated a teacher training college.
The programme has been sponsored by Friends of Woodstock School and the Downs Foundation, and helps fulfil Woodstock’s 2020 Vision aim of investing in and maintaining a stable and high calibre staff, and creating a shared coherence to the school’s pedagogy,
The Institute of Education is the only college of the University of London dedicated entirely to education and related areas of social science.  It is the UK's leading centre for studies in education and related disciplines.
In the last official audit of UK universities (the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise), the IOE topped the league tables in education research in both quality and quantity. Across all subjects, the IOE's performance places it in the top ten universities in the UK.
